Congratulations! You are the winner in the Best Jazz Band category! As a winner, you are cordially invited to play at Grand Band Slam on October 4th at Maximum Capacity! In addition to your chance to play at Grand Band Slam, you are also entitled to a 1/2 page ad to be used before October of 2009, and your concert dates for the next year will be listed in a new section of the paper and web devoted to Grand Band Slam winners only. On the day of the event, your band will put their names in a lottery to determine the Grand Prize winner of Grand Band Slam. The Grand Prize winner will receive a $10,000 marketing package which includes year long advertising in print and online, professional publicity stills, and recording time at Northfire Studios. There will also be 2nd and 3rd place winners. In order to qualify for the Grand Prize, you must play at Grand Band Slam.

The Boston Globe : Annual Groton arts festival goes green and blue

The challenge to organizers of the venerable Grotonfest - now more than 30 years old - is how to infuse new energy into this annual celebration of art and music.

This year, Grotonfest is staying fresh by going green and blue.

Green as in setting up a special "Living Green" section for learning about the latest in living light on the earth. And blue comes from highlighting the bluesy and funky sound of singer/songwriter Leah Randazzo, a Groton native who has been building a large following for her unusual style. Full Article
